Setting the Timer

30 Minutes

It’s pretty easy. With the TIMER5030 off (the yellow LED is actually ON), put your thumb, or almost anything, about an inch (~2.5cm) in front of the switch LEDs and keep it there. The light (or bathroom fan or whatever is connected) will go on (at the same time the yellow LED will go out). Don’t move. The light (or bathroom fan) will go off. Don’t move, that was one. The light (or bathroom fan) will go on. Don’t move. The light (or bathroom fan) will go off. Don’t move, that was two. The light (or bathroom fan ) will go on. Don’t move. The light (or bathroom fan) will go off. MOVE, that was three.

The TIMER5030 will now turn itself off 30 minutes after you turn it on. This is ideal for a bathroom fan.

50 Minutes

The same process can be used to set the time to 50 minutes. To do so the switch must turn on and off FIVE times instead of just three.

Clearing the Setting

It’s the same process that was used to set the timer. The light will go on. Don’t move. The light will go off. Don’t move, that was two. The light will go on. Don’t move. The light will go off. (Sounding familiar?) keep going until the count reaches 6 then MOVE your hand away. The timer has been cleared.

Now the switch will only turn off when you turn it off. This is the best setting for a bathroom light.
